Commercial Bank of Dubai celebrates a 50-year journey filled with achievements

On the occasion of the bank’s Golden Jubilee, a new book was published, that summarizes a journey of countless accomplishments and successes.

09 November, 2020 – Coinciding with the theme 2020: Towards the next 50 and the UAE’s preparations for its Golden Jubilee, the Commercial Bank of Dubai celebrates its 50th anniversary of service to the national economy and the country in addition to the extraordinary shifts in the bank’s journey towards welfare and prosperity. To celebrate its long-standing success in banking, the bank published a new book that summarizes a journey of countless accomplishments and successes that spans over 50 years. The launch ceremony was witnessed by His Excellency Humaid Al Qutami, Board Chairman, Commercial Bank of Dubai and a select group of officials and administrators.

H.E. Humaid Al Qutami, Board Chairman, said regarding the launch, “The number 50 is a distinguished one this year, as it embodies the journey taken by the UAE to reach levels of sophistication that surpassed that of the biggest countries in the world to become an example followed internationally.”

He added that “The completion of this remarkable project would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of the team in preparing and publishing the book. I am pleased to extend my thanks and appreciation to all the team members of the project and to everyone who diligently and tirelessly contributed to its success. The preparation of this book embodies the collective efforts of our employees and depicts a pioneering banking journey that enhanced the banking sector and strengthened the UAE economy. We renew our pledge to move forwards towards the highest levels of success and achievements in the banking sector, and will continue our mission of elevating the stature of the UAE and its economy, which is considered one of the strongest in the world.”

Despite the exceptional circumstances we are going through and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on all developmental sectors on a local and global level, this book was created to highlight the role played by the Commercial Bank of Dubai in contributing to the strengthening of the banking sector and to emphasize the exceptional and attractive investment climate attained by the country. The book delves into the early periods and stages of the bank’s success as well as its journey across the decades, while growing as the pride and joy of every Emirati as a bank fully owned by the citizens of the UAE.
