CBD becomes the first bank in the UAE to integrate its Mobile App with UAE Pass

Dubai, 04 February 2020: Commercial Bank of Dubai has become the first bank in the UAE to successfully integrate authentication services on its CBD Mobile App with UAE Pass, the national digital identity and digital signature solution for the UAE.

With this integration, CBD Mobile App users can now benefit from the instant authentication feature of the UAE Pass to access the Mobile App.  CBD will also soon extend the use of UAE Pass to digitize other banking services thereby making the entire process paperless.

On the occasion, Dr. Bernd van Linder, Chief Executive Officer, Commercial Bank of Dubai, said, “We are proud to be the first bank in the UAE to integrate UAE Pass into our mobile banking to digitally authenticate customers. CBD has always been strongly supportive of all government initiatives, as such partnerships are essential to drive UAE’s ambitions forward, in line with directives from our wise leadership.”

CBD has been actively driving digital transformation and investing in state-of-the-art technology to provide customers with the best banking experience. We are keen to extend the use of UAE Pass to digitize other banking services to enable our customers to enjoy the full benefit of this solution,” he added.

Launched at the Gitex Exhibition 2018, UAE Pass is a national initiative started by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority and Smart Dubai, which aims to provide quick and easy digital access to government and non-government services.

The UAE Pass App is the first national digital identity and signature solution that enables users to identify themselves through smartphone based authentication and is aligned with UAE’s government goals for digital transformation and eliminating paper transactions.

By downloading the UAE Pass app and creating an account, users will have a single digital identity for both local and federal government entities, in addition to various other service providers.
