Commercial Bank of Dubai’s CEO wins Banking CEO of the Year Award at CEO Middle East Awards 2018
Dr. Bernd van Linder, CEO of Commercial Bank of Dubai, one of the leading banks in the UAE, was presented with the prestigious “Banking CEO of the Year” award at the 2018 CEO Middle East Awards. The ceremony attended by prominent business leaders and decision makers from the public and private sector was held on 25th September 2018 at the Rixos Premium Hotel, JBR, Dubai.
Dr. Bernd van Linder was bestowed with the honour in recognition of his efforts to drive digital transformation at CBD which is in line with the UAE government’s vision. His stewardship and commitment has led to digitizing banking experiences across all segments including personal, corporate and government entities.
Following the award ceremony Dr. Bernd van Linder said, “I am truly humbled and honoured to receive this accolade, which I would like to dedicate to all our CBD employees, whose great work has helped in winning this award. While the award is a testament to our continued efforts to be the best bank in the UAE, it also serves as an encouragement to keep moving forward.”
Under Dr. Bernd’s leadership, CBD has won a number of awards and accolades including the Banker Middle East Product Awards for the Best Digital Bank and the Best Cash Management in 2017 and 2018, the Best Mobile App as part of the Customer Experience Benchmarking Index Awards, by Ethos Integrated Solutions, in 2017 and in 2018, and most recently the Best Online Cash Management award at the Global Finance 2018 World Best Digital Bank Awards in the Middle East.
The CEO Middle East Awards 2018 presented awards to 16 deserving winners picked from more than 100 nominations. The judging panel comprised the editorial team and directors of ITP Executive Publishing. The CEO Middle East Awards recognize and reward the most successful and innovative CEOs in the Middle East, who have delivered outstanding results and made a vital contribution to the vibrancy of business across the region.
