Commercial Bank of Dubai Appoints New Chairman and Vice Chairman to the Board

Dubai, 11 April, 2018: Commercial Bank of Dubai has appointed Mr. Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Qutami as the Chairman of the CBD Board of Directors.

In a statement today, CBD said Mr. Qutami joined the bank’s board in March 2015, bringing with him several years of notable government experience.

Mr. Al Qutami is the Director General of Dubai Health Authority in addition to serving on the board of several other government and federal organizations. He has also held the office of UAE Minister of Education, and UAE Minister of Health amongst many other high profile positions.

Mr. Qutami thanked the outgoing Chairman, Mr. Saeed Ahmed Ghobash, for all his tireless efforts in growing the bank significantly since taking over as Chairman of the Board in 2012.  

The Board also appointed Mr. Ahmad Abdulkarim Julfar as the Vice Chairman.  Mr. Julfar is the Director General of Community Development Authority and is a board member in a number of several other organizations including the Emirates Integrated Telecommunication Company (du). He also served as the Group Chief Executive Officer of Etisalat and the Chairman of Thuraya Telecommunication’s board.
