Strategic Plan for Nationals
Since its inception, Commercial Bank of Dubai has considered the recruitment of UAE nationals as one of its priorities. It has always aimed to attract and train nationals, appointing them in responsible leading positions without neglecting the abilities and promotion prospects of staff regardless of their nationalities. As this concept gained momentum
Emiratisation became a strategic perception in the Bank’s plans, both in the medium term and long term.
Emiratization of the Bank's staff is a systematic process; it is not only concerned with increasing the number of national employees as a proportion of the total workforce, but also aims to upgrade their skills in an efficient manner.
Emiratisation of the Bank's staff is a systematic process; it is not only concerned
with increasing the number of national employees as a proportion of the total workforce,
but also aims to upgrade their skills in an efficient manner.
The process thus requires that national employees be endowed with exceptional skills,
allowing them to shoulder their responsibilities and contribute efficiently to the
Bank's growth and prosperity. According to this concept, training nationals is not
limited to the preliminary stage prior to their appointment; rather, it is a continuous
process involving regular and intensive training courses, allowing them to upgrade
their skills and cope with the latest developments in the banking industry.
In addition to the intensive training courses held at the Bank's premises, many
national employees are sent to attend specialised training courses, either at the
Emirates Banking Institute or abroad.
This is all part of our overall ambition to nurture a qualified generation of nationals
as bankers for the future of the country.
Thanks to the directives and follow-up of the Bank's Chairman, members of the Board
and Management, the Bank has achieved substantial results in Emiratisation. Most
branch managers are now nationals, and many nationals hold senior positions at the
Bank's headquarters. This process is expected to gain further momentum in the coming
few years, so that the targeted Emiratisation rates are reached.
The Bank's Management strongly believes in the importance of investing in human
resources, and recruits graduate nationals directly from colleges and universities.
The efforts of Commercial Bank of Dubai in this respect are in line with the Government's
drive to increase the proportion of nationals employed by the banking sector, which
the Bank considers as a long-term investment.
